1988 s10 blzer 2.8 4x4 Fuel pump, filter I dunno help?

Was driving down a dirt road when the engine quit.. its not getting any gas. Could the filter be clogged or has the pump gone out? Someone suggested a pump fuse..if so where can I find it.

I would appreciate any answers.. Thanx

The fuse is located in the fuse panel under left side of dash..beside parking brake...ECM 10 amp.It also could be a lot of other things..besides the fuse..like the ground on the frame rail behind license plate...see if pump runs when you first turn the switch on ...it comes on for 2 sec.so you may have to get someone at the tank to listen.Let me know what you find out>Bobby

Fuel Pump Relay Mounted on the Left front Fender could also be your problem

Maybe but more likely it is the pump going bad and drawing more power. You do not what to run those pumps low on fuel a lot is it will shorten their life a good bit.

Snoman is correct..my brother took a fuel pump and mounted it to the frame and it burned up real quick. It was so hot it burned his hand.

I would have liked to have seen that setup. I suspect it did not last long at all. I have a 89 with original pump still but I never really run it low either (it has a 40 gallon tank too)

Ok went to work this morn about a 13 mile drive all was fine.. on the way home made it to the corner of my house and the fuse blew again :( .. Also would like to let ya know that when the engine is started it bogs down for about a min or two.. untill it warms up.. could it be the filter? Maybe the Relay is going out?
