Where are you getting these numbers from? It doesn't look like a casting number from the side of the block.

Would also help to have the year. Casting number located drivers side rear of block adjacent to transmission. Stamped number right side front of block in front of cylinder head.

We're still waiting from some more information as to the year, make and model. 99% likelihood the "It's a Chevy engine" is humor

At work currently - will come back tomorrow with more info. The body is a 68 Chevy C10 Pickup, but it is not the original engine, so I have no idea at the rest. I will check the casting number and post it tomorrow. Thanks Drikus

Ok I am going to point you to some pages that will help you.

will show you were the numbers are. The thing is the numbers you gave just don't match the format. The second set of number seem to say Tonawanda or depending on casting year Tarrytown (T) 1027 could be October 27th as date of assembly of the engine, but then if pre 69 there should be two letters which would tell what it is ie 327 4 bolt main, or 307 2 bolt etc. Post 70 there should be three letters. The first letter tells what it was in C for car, T for truck.followd by two more telling what it is ie 350, 307 etc. If it is a vin number there should be 2 numbers immediately preceding the T which would be the date of assembly, then the" T" which again would be the plant and the last six numbers would be the sequence number, ie the 102730th engine built that year.
