Thanks, friend!!

Some OT good news: on January 31st, I went to play a benefit for a local musician who is fighting cancer. We raised $9000 for him. There at a back table was a gorgeous blonde, sitting with some friends. It was Nancy, the lady whom I was engaged to back in 1980, but who had canceled the engagement. I had never seen her again until that night. We are now very much in love and I see her every day. Hoping to be married soon. 25 years was not too long to wait; Nancy is worth it.

I'm really happy to see the newsgroup still alive. To hear from people who still remember me is even better! Thanks!

Note recent message about me being in love again at age 68. ;)

Playing locally as often as I can find a gig. The new JJ Cale Band Documntary/Tour DVD is now available in the UK, Europe and OZ/Kiwi. I have seen it a few times and it's really good. It should be released in the USA on NTSC DVD very soon. I'm on some of the tracks of "Mad Dogs and Okies" CD, one track with Willie Nelson included.

The Luggage sits quietly on the upper driveway these days. He will be attending a car show on April 1st. He rarely goes out anymore; I got tired of the bad drivers around here running into him.

I'm thinking of coming to the Terry Pratchett Discworld Convention later this summer/fall.

So far I've only done Oulton Park in an Elisse; Goodwood sounds very inviting.

Out of retirement, eh! Just celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary this weekend.

Sounds like a trip to the record store is in order. Haven't bought anything since Christmas, when Ann gave me the Chris Rea 'Blue guitars' book of blues CDs.

It is a pain, isn't it. My Scooby got a nice new back panel last year courtesy of somebody else's insurance, but I could have done without the hassle. Ronnie has the odd chip and scratch and needs new sills, but then he does still get used pretty much every day.

Give me a shout when it's definite. We should get a little gathering of Minis together somewhere.

Excellent news Rock. How is the Luggage? How are the wheels you shipped back to the US from sunny Yorkshire?

Ended up selling them to a friend for his Cooper S. I found more Mercury mags and have them on the Luggage and the wee trailer now.
