I'm not much of a believer in additives but sometimes they have merit. There used to be an oil additive from Wynns called "Engine Tune-up". I've seen this stuff instantly quiet lifters in an engine that sounded like a coffee can full of marbles. It really is only designed to work on hydraulic lifters by cleaning them out, so know what you have before proceeding. Something to consider. FWIW YMMV DFB

You may also want to try a good synthetic oil (Mobil One 10W-30) as well one time to see if this helps out.
