Did you grease them? Did you check the parking brake mechanisms?

It was already mentioned that you should have checked your parking brake operation. It isn't normally necessary to grease anything, but there are places where the hardware touches and slides on the backing plate, and it is acceptable to lightly lube those spots.

Did you rebuild the wheel cylinders, or replace them? And bleed them well?

If you did it by the book, little is left except the brake lines, the master cylinder, and the proportioning valve.

the only grease used is anti-seize on the adjuster.the emergency brake cables were unhooked for exploritory efforts but the problem still exists.someone said it might be my master cylinder.

I replaced one wheel cylinder that had been leaking.all parts were cleaned, there is no binding of anything that I can see.the brakes were bled numerous times, brake lines were replaced from the front to the back.the only parts not changed are the master cylinder and proportioning valve.

Have you replace the hoses? Sometimes on GM's they come apart internally and act as one-way valves.
