97 Surburban trannie problem

Friend of mine has a 97 Burb, 1500, 4X4, 350 automatic. The other day he started it and put it in gear. The truck felt like it had a rubber drive shaft. And the gear position indicator was off. He shut it off and restarted it and the same thing. The next day he started it and the gear indicator was on, and the truck drove fine.

Any ideas?

Al

NOTICE ....NOTICE.....NOTICE.........

OP is a run-on dialog poster !!

Do...NOT ass u me........he meant 350 transmission. Do...NOT ass u me........he meant 350 cui motor.

Do.....ass u me ............he meant well by makeing it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR........that some moron haddn't changed the tranny for a "weekend tech show-off competition" !!!

oh.......on topic.....ok............

For the OP.............tell your buddy to crawl his LAZY ASS up under the truck while you move the shifter up and down for him. Though he IS LAZY...and this is simple fact due to the post that YOU made for HIM.........I feel quite assured that his lazy ass can tell IF the lever on the transmission is moving while you do it. Then, if the lever DOES move..tell his lazy ass to drop the tranny pan and see if the manual valve is moving while he works the shifter lever on the tranny back and fort...

do a repost......... if his ass ain't to lazy to help............ and our lazy ass's will help YOU help HIM ...some more!!

or......... do a repost....... and we'll all have a laugh about how lazy his ass was !!! and about how you reeeely have a bad choice in friends.

:)

never know when you'll want him .........to help....you.
