Gettig "Service 4WD" message. Has the electronic 4wd selection. What are the possible causes of this.

There are a few possible causes, but in that year, it's most likely to be code 2725, indicating that there are intermittent connection problems in the dash switch. Replacing the dash switch will fix the problem (until the switch goes south again). Again, you need to pull the codes to see what they/it are.

Dash switch went on my 2000 Sierra a year ago, was replaced on warranty
