what would be causing this, what should i be looking for?? Could low or high voltage at the distributor power supply wire cause this.

Look for bad grounds or a module which isn't grounded well(did you put dieelectric grease under it when installing it?). Pretty famous for that.

it must be a bad ground some where, the new distibutor was completely assembled when boughten, just had to add the coil and cap from other distributor,
anyone have any other thoughts??
