UK A4 1.8T Avant SE specifications

Thank you Peter, when the salesman and I were were looking at what stock was available the printout said "'05 models". I was given a new pricelist which is entitled "The new A4 and S4 saloon and Avant price list Effective from July 2005 2006 model year". The salesman has just got back to me telling me that the model I have ordered meets the specification in this price list but I would still like some confirmation.

Cheers

Mark

I'm sorry that I don't have the information you're looking for, but since the B7 model is relatively young, and not wildly different to the B6 model, it is perfectly believable that there are no significant changes for the 2006 model year.

I certainly hope that the quoted title of the pricelist will convince Ronny that model year 2006 cars can, and do, exist before 1 January

2006!

Here is a typical post from an American regarding this

Just ordered my 2006 A4 Q 3.2 Tiptronic - Dophin Grey

quote.... "Sweet car... All 06' models are at the port. They are only releasing them if they are marked "SOLD" Bose w/Sirius, Prem, Cold, Tech/ w/out Bluetooth... iPod adapter and Sunroof. Everyone was correct, Dophin Grey Metallic is special order only. The only thing I am unhappy about... I went to 3 different dealers and none of them have a picture, brochure or can really tell you anything about the A4 06'. Did 05.5 vs 06' change any interior? I guess I'll be surprised. I love how the A6 added the LCD screen standard with or without the Navi. I'm hoping that the A4 06' would have done the same, being its no longer the entry level Audi. But, I doubt it.

Quote....

Of course the quoted title of the pricelist is going to say 2006, we are talking about America here, So if you belive that there is a 2006 model Audi A4 in the UK please provide proof, if not please stop harping on about it like an old broken record, I have checked the Audi website and there is nothing about a 2006 Audi A4 anywhere.

Do a search on google for 2006 A4 and the first page that comes up is some American car review stating the Audi A4 2006 is in fact a standard B7 Audi like we all frigging know, The car has only been out 5 months and already your talking about it like it's 3 years old.

Here is anther American quote

" September 23, 2004 First Look: 2006 Audi A4 Here we are, barely into the 2005 season, and Audi introduces a 2006! Sometimes we long for the days when every new car was kept under wraps until September, then unveiled in one big industry-wide splash. Regardless, the

2006 Audi A4 has been unveiled and though not a total change, includes enough updates to be called "new." The most obvious is Audi's new grille, which harks back to the Auto-Union racers of the 30's; most obvious when driving is a revised 2-liter, 4-cylinder, 200 hp engine featuring direct injection, developed from Audi's current LeMans racers. Edmunds.com has the full story. "

According to Audi uk website

A4 Saloon Lifestyle Pack Free of Charge

Includes:

- Rear Acoustic Parking

- Phone Preparation on dashboard

  • For orders placed on A4 SE and S line models from 1st July 2005 until 31st December 2005.

Car companies normally do this to try and shift some more cars.

Our price lists in England state a price from the release date until the following year, so if you look at the UK Audi site the price list is "Effective April 2005" this is due to the way cars are sold over here, as you don't have registration marks that go on date sold you can market your cars differently, although i do prefer our way of doing things.

I think that you will find that the price list is only valid until it is superseded by a revised price list - there is nothing to say that the prices are valid for a whole year. I have Audi price lists which were issued three months apart.

I wonder who this 'you' is addressed at? Mark appears to be in the UK, and I'm certainly in England.

I was under the impression Mark was from America, my apologies. Going back to his original post, what I said about 2006 model Audi's, he said he wants to know if the 2006 Audi comes with a different spec, but the Lifestyle changes are only valid until Dec 2005, this looks like they are adding some extras in anticipation of a revision next year? correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway I won't post again on this subject as you know my viewpoint by now :)

There may well be revisions next year, which will probably become available around June or July 2006 with what Audi will call the 2007 model year cars!

I understand your point of view. One thing which gets to me is the release of a September issue of a magazine at the beginning of August, or even earlier!

This all arises because of competition and the desire of manufacturers/publishers to benefit from early sales by beating the competition to market. I don't like it, but it is inescapable when discussing car specifications - you have to go with what the manufacturer decrees!
