E30 brakes (front)

Jan 20, 2006 1 Replies

Just received a replacement front disk brake caliper from my parts guy... (lets not mention that he first supplied one for a non-vented disk)

the box contains, in addition to the caliper, a pair of bolts for caliper to bracket fixing, a pair of small rupper bellows for the guide pins, and a small packet of silicone compound, type DOW CORNING

Where does that go? Bently manual (and Hayes Book) does not mention it... is it for guide pin lubrication?

Yes - special high temperature grease for guide pins.
