Oil for limited slip differential

I have a 1987 325i with the limited slip differential. It isn't clear in the manual what oil (plus additives??) to use in this rear end. Can anyone recommend the right stuff to put in. Thanks so much in advance.

Many like to use synthetic gear oil from companies like Redline, Amsoil or Royal Purple. Change it ever and the tranny fluid every 30K miles and enjoy!

Of course, conventional clutch-type LSD's require special fluid for that purpose...

That's true in part. Redline Gear oil contains a friction modifer for LSD in it:
