At the moment it is a 0-speed.
If it is auto it will only start in Neutral or Park, and you need to use the selector to disengage the box (check it shows in the dash).
If it is manual you can try and crank in gear, but the car will lurch.
PS Did you find out what the pipe was for? Coolant, oil coolant, petrol, washer bottle, refrigerant etc. or was it perhaps a wire?
