Can I post a truck for sale on this newsgroup without fear of being called a spammer. Not sure about the rules? It is a great deal for someone living in the Midwest US.

Post away... this is an un-moderated newsgroup. Only time you'd be considered a spammer is if you were promoting a website of your own or promoting a service or the like. There are alot of self proclaimed net-nannies on this group, but they are also the people who contribute the least amount of useful info on a regular basis. Ignore them.
