I was going to trade my 2000 Chevy S10 4x4 in yesterday when the Sales Manager claims the transmission is going on it. I know that there has been no behavioral difference since I've owned it for 5 years. Since the day I bought it there was the occasional noise from the driveshaft that would happen if you press on the gas then release then press on it again. I brought it in the dealership back then from something unrelated and talked to the tech and he said that was normal behavior. I haven't thought about it since and it's driven fine. Now that I want to trade this truck in I'm being told it could require $2000 in a transmission rebuild. Yet it drives perfectly fine just like any other truck. I guess my question is, is this normal for this truck or is the sales manager trying to weasel 2000 from me. I am thinking the latter.
Thanks,
Glenn
