Dynomax Headers or alternative?

I want to install a set of Dynomax headers on my 1972 Chevy with a 350. It has a 4 speed Muncie with the linkage connecting to the block. wil there be clearance issues?

I'd stay away from the Dynomax and go with Hedman's or Hooker Comp's, you will most likely encounter some type of clearance issue with any brand.

Firs off...DONT go with dynomax! They use crappy tubing and its thinner than most. Good chance they will bust to hell just before the collector. Go Hedman, hooker, Edelbrock... Ya pay more but you get more!

As for clearances...Best way to know is to check with the manufacturer. Some are made to clear and others aren't. Chances are in favor of having problems.

They do crack though. The Vette Rams Horn manifolds have a 3inch outlet(if I remember correctly...or was it 2 1/2?) and are pretty expensive! If you want the Vette manifolds, you will pay dearly for them! Standard late

60's - early 70's rams horns range from $10 a pair to $40+ a pair depending on availability, condition and outlet. I had a couple sets of Vette horns offered and they were a couple hundred bucks per pair!!! If you just want better flow, buy a set of block huggers or shorties and call it good. It IS almost impossible to beat full length headers for performance though.
