Just to add my 02 - I changed the pump in a 89 suburban and the pump was only 29 bucks with a new sock filter. I called around and the cheapest guy would do it for $225 plus the pump. He said he only buys the pump from the dealer so I made the attack myself. Mine had the big tank too and it was a wrestling match, to say the least. But my major complaint is that there is no slack in the hoses or the wiring. You can't drop the tank to the ground to work; you have to fumble around the top of it while balancing the tank. My next try is a 99 silverado - I intend to raise the bed to do it.
