Tailgate Lock

I have a 1994 Silverado,5.7.



The tailgate latch has broken.I lift the handle and it feels very loose and tailgate will not open.Is this just a matter of changing latch??or does it have to be taken apart and looked at?? Thank You

Sounds like the handle got bent. Replacement is easy, few bolts from the inside and undo the two rods to the latches and it's out.
