TBI rv cam swap, do I have to upgrade computer / chip?

Thanks for all your help with my previous post, trying to build a motor to get better fuel economy and HP. The truck is a 91 chevy TBI 350 automatic 4x4.

My plan is to add vortec heads and have them redrilled to accept my old intake. In addition to the 64cc heads I want to add flat top pistons to bump the compression up to somewhere around 9.5:1

My real question is, if I add a mild rv cam of some sort will I have to change chips in the computer? I was told the computer reads valve timing and the truck would run lousey until I replaced the chip, however the information wasn't based on first hand experience. Also when playing with the compression will this affect the O2 sensors that adjust the fuel mixture etc..

Has anyone had any first hand experience? and what chip if any did they purchase and where?
