woofer install in 1972 chevy c10 pickup

Greetings,

I have 1972 chevy c10 pickup and I'm looking for options, suggestions, advice, etc on installing a woofer.

I don't want it in the bed.

I'm concerned about devaluating my investment by cutting holes in the doors. Should I be?

Got a large gas tank right behind the seat.

Has anyone built a box to fit over the transmission hump to house the woofer?

Any ideas and thoughts related to this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Pat

Pat,

You might be able to squeeze some 8" subs in custom made kick panel enclosures, but they'll be very small per way of internal volume so the bass won't be that great plus you'll have less footroom.

Best thing to do would be to relocate the gas tank to it's "proper" place outside the cab and then run the subs behind the seat.

Doc

a friend of mine had a similar truck a few years back. and had the same prob....easier than moving the gas tank is puting in Bucket seats and tossong a sub in a box between the two....hope this helps some....

How bout some 8s UNDER the seat?
