1992, running lights always stay on. Must removed fuse from under hood to turn off. OR take off battery cable. Is this a switch of some sort? Module? And where the heck is it??

running lights permanently on. The only way to get them to turn off is to take off the 50amp fuse under the hood OR to disconnect the battery? Is this a switch problem? Or another fuse? And where the heck is it?? Anyone?

Your Daytime Running Light module has failed. Very common failure mode on this module. Lift the left front corner of the car. Remove the left front wheel and tire assembly. Remove the plastic wheel well arch/liner by pulling out its push-in fastener clips. Inside the fender you will find the Daytime Running Light module. Unplug it. This will deactivate the DRLs without affecting any other system.

You can either get another module of the same design for too much money from the dealer, another failed or about-to-fail unit from the wrecking yard, or leave the factory module unplugged, put the wheel arch and wheel back on, get the inexpensive, legal and durable turn signal DRL module from

and put that in, takes about 25 minutes.

Thanks Mr Stern Husband finally has a day off to deal with this and it was where you said it was and to boot...did in fact only take 20 minutes or so. Considering hubby is a 'chef', he thanks you very much for making this as easy as reading a recipe. Thank you very much. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated!

You're quite welcome. Glad to help out.

But they'll never believe it in South Joysey!
