Hi:
I have a 1981 Dodge camper van with a 360 engine. Quite suddenly, the power steering seemed to fail, or at least it wasn't "assisting" very much. It's not fluid level or a loose belt. Is there a simple way to tell whether it's the power steering pump or something in the steering gear? The amount of assist I'm getting now seems to vary from almost nothing (making steering while stopped very difficult) to almost normal.
