Saxo Brakes

Dec 21, 2005 1 Replies

Hi i have a 2000 saxo forte with 34000 on the clock, bought it not long ago and have had no problems with it until i took it on the motorway and went over 40mph, When you apply the brakes the car goes sharply to the right and is that dangerous i dont take it over 40 now, its fine at low speeds the brakes seem fine. Took the wheels off to have a look and the pads are brand new, the fluid is topped up to max, any ideas? i have also noticed that sometimes when the wheels are turning the make a squeaking sound?

I'd suggest a binding calliper or piston on the left hand front and you don't notice it so much at low speeds. The brand new pads sound indicative of recent and possibly bodged work by the previous owner.
