Cars That Have Become Valuable

No, not quite a kennel - a Victorian semi, probably a railwayman's cottage in view of its location. And £90k is what it went for a couple of years ago - I know because I seriously thought about buying it (again!) as I don't need and can't afford the place I live in now. It's probably gone up a bit since then, but still not as much as a GTO.

Albert Road North seems to be RH2 9, according to Google.

You should have...

Apr-June 2004 sales for that postcode :- Semis - average, £271,000 Terraces - average, £306,000

It'd probably have been a better investment than that GTO over the last few years, especially %age wise!

Terrible, innit, when your house earns more than you do.

Hmm would have had to make it a big win !!

The Mercedes SSK sold for £4181500 inc premium Yes you did read right over 4 million !!

The S type Invicta made £265500 inc premium.

Most stuff made over estimate and total was in excess of £6 million.

I found the full results on

Would you want to leave a GTO parked anywhere?

People do. If you can afford to buy it, you can afford to insure it. Back when GTOs were just old racing cars Alain de Cadenet's often used to be parked in Woodford Green, where it was maintained by Chris Craft's brother at the Castle Garage. Not worth anything like as much in those days, of course, but still highly desirable.

Now if you want to see exotica parked around, try touring some of the hotels around the Goodwood area on the week of the Revival. I've seen BUY 1 parked on a roadside verge because there wasn't space in the hotel car park.

Tiff Needell did a special from Goodwood a few years ago. In one shot he's walking around the field being used as a carpark. It's not marque stands or special displays. He walks past a sleek bright red wedge and casually waves in it's direction. "Million pound car" he says, the tone of voice says "and some fool has just left here". Merc C111 it was.
