Not sure if anyone else has discovered this, slightly unusual, cutting room floor delight (officially) posted on YouTube?

HuntleyFilmArchives - August 27, 2009 - A compilation of back projection plate footage shot in London in the 1950s and 1960s. It is filmed from the back of a moving vehicle to be projected behind actors in a studio, thereby giving the impression they are in a moving car.

Catalogue detail: Long tracking shot looking backwards from moving vehicle in West London, along the Hammersmith Road heading east, pedestrians and traffic, great street scenes, past the old King's Theatre. Point of view from moving vehicle of Kensington, west London, same route from two different angles. Side view to the rear right of vehicle Kensington High Street, shops, pedestrians on the pavement, a Britvic lorry follows, past Boots and Woolworths, turning into a posh residential street with parked cars and very grand houses. Past C&A, red Routemaster buses. Round Piccadilly Circus at night, lots of neon lights visible. View of shopping street at night. Includes Studio One and Two Cinema. View of Tottenham Court Road at night. The Strand at night, busy, a rear view from moving vehicle, a Jaguar MKII follows and a Number 11 Routemaster bus, stopping and starting in the heavy traffic, past Charing Cross, then into a side street.

Wonderful stuff! Set me going on the various links as well - 60's fashions, shots of Carnaby Street - oh, nostalgia!
