Where is this on the V8?

Where on my old SD1 carb/manifold set up doI find the servo/vacum take-off gubbins ?

What does it look like, what does it do (brakes not dizzy-right?) and can I take it out and swap it over to my new manifold? I'm trying to find something I think might look like a temp sesor but I can't find mention of it in any manual anywhere.

As far as I can remember it's just a simple 'male' hose connector (looks like a 1/2 inch water hose could fit on it) sticking up from the inlet manifold, behind the carbs or plenum on the drivers side (assuming RHD). It provides a vacuum supply to the servo (do you supply vacuum or take it away?) It may well be hidden under the air filter box... I don't remember any sensors or other gubbins... But I'm getting old and my memory ain't what it used to be ;-) Of course you could just fire up the engine and trace the 'sucking air' noise...

*Think* it's about half way along the manifold on the top at the driver's side.

It's large - takes an approx 1/2" hose.

The distributor vacuum take off is much smaller.

The nut size is certainly similar to the temp sensor.

Thanks, I think I have found it, came out a treat (unlike the temp sensor which being brass I mangled). But I found an old land rover one which fit.

But I also found on the same side of the manifold a bolt/banjo fitting which led into a T connector and then into two circular things on top/side of each carb - is that just a breather hose ? It has the same thread as the servo vacuum unit.

Could be connection to auto box and heater.
