90 Dynasty AC problem

:? All of the sudden air stops flowing through the panel, (with ?panel? button pushed) and starts coming through floor. Happens after I accelerate from a stop and then air will start coming through the panel again and then through floor intermittently.

Obvious that there is a directional valve/float behind the panel that is malfunctioning.

Any info or experience as far as difficulty/expense to solve that you have on this would be greatly appreciatated.

Thanks in advance.

Your heat/AC controls are run by vacuum. There is a vacuum line that runs from your heat/AC control panel to the engine. There is a one way check valve located in this vacuum line. It may be white or blue in color. The check vavle is no longer working and you need to replace it. The vacuum line should be visible from under the hood. It usually runs through the firewall on the passenger side and then over towards the brake booster. It connects to a vacuum source around the brake booster vacuum line or may run to the engine. When you locate the check valve be sure to notice which way it is installed. It is a one way valve and should have an arrow on it showing which it should be installed. Be sure to install the new one with the arrow pointing the same way.
