Bizarre Ram 1500 Issues

I am having a problem with a newly installed (by the local Dodge dealership) ECM. I think the voltage regulation is faulty. I have "overcharged" two brand new batteries in the last month.

I think the alternator is giving the battery too much juice.

I have had issues starting the truck after filling up with gas (purge solenoid ?)...

I have had issues (in the rain...dunno if that matters) with warning lights then complete engine loss)...

The place where I bought this says that, readings from the computer appear normal. I dont get it. I know it's just a matter of time until this truck fails me again.

Please help

Welllllll, I guess I'd start checking ground wire connections first. Battery to body, battery to engine, battery to frame. This sounds like a circuit failure, not a computer problem. Second thing is I'd be looking for a short, positive to ground somewhere. Would that be driving in the rain or sitting still? Go for the connections at the starter, they are more exposed to the water usually. Most mechanics don't want to invest the time to find this kind of problem, it isn't what they have learned to do well.
