Almost 1% the speed of light? My tv set throws electrons faster.


Some physicists speculated Edward Teller's H-bomb would fuse the hydrogen in the oceans and turn the Earth into a star. It didn't happen.


Here's my senseless prediction to join yours: According to quantum mechanics, given enough time, anything can happen. This implies that every time you flip a light switch, there is a finite chance gravity might be switched off and we all take a free, but unplanned, ride into deep space.
