Thanks for the interesting reply. Now I understand what you are talking about. The auto associations here are starting to say that putting E10 (10% ethlylene) fuel in the tank is wasting money as over any sort of long drive the cost savings soon fall behind the extra fuel used because of the lower energy output.

And, as you well know - long drives here are normal!!!
