I have just boughten a 1995 v6 firebird and ran into some trouble. The exhaust system has somehow already found a way to rust out, and I am searching for a stock replacement. I was just wondering if someone could tell me what company manufactured the mufflers and exhaust. Also, I am looking at some aftermarket dual systems. I could use some help with what to get, considering that I am on a limited budget. If someone could also recommend a system for that, whether it be bassani, slp, flowmaster, or some namebrand system that will last for a few years. Thanks, Tim

The original exhaust was probably made for GM by Arvin-Meritor among other OEM suppliers.
However, the quality of the parts you get from them in the aftermarket (they also supply the aftermarket) is a different grade than the OEM product.
If GM still offers this exhaust, it will likely be very expensive.
I would go with a good Walker or Dynomax (I belive owned by the former) system as a stock replacement and be done with it.
10 years is not that bad for an OEM exhaust to last depending on the conditions (salt, climate, etc).
