Legendary Pontiac Ram Air V 400 engine-ran 11.60's

I recently purchased a 1969 issue of Car Craft from Ebay- specifically for the Pontiac RA V drag test inside. This test was done by Milt Schornack of Royal Pontiac.

They took a dyno mule engine from Pontiac, put it in a ' 69 Firebird, and first time out it ran 12.30's

With some tuning of the carburetor and timing, it eventually went

11.60's in the 1/4

Car weighed 3340 pounds without driver. Engine was 400 CID
