My "new" firebird..... 1995 3.4 v6... Need veteran 4th gen advice.. maint. & mods.

Stock 1995 Firebird, T5, L32....

Well, I know it doesn't sound like much, but it only had 40k on it. Also, my other car is an 81' vette that's going to be built more for power. I got this car b/c it was a good deal, looks good, drives good, and gets decent MPG; all while still offering a good 'sports car' fell.

Everyone that has delt with these cars please look this list over and tell me if I'm missing something or should modify it somehow. I'm interested in adding drivability and performance only while keeping/adding to gas efficiency

COMPLETE FLUIDS CHANGE: Engine Oil - Flush & planning on going with a good non-syn. Transmission Fluid - WHAT IS BEST FOR THIS? Rear Diff. Fluid - WHAT IS BEST FOR THIS? Coolant- Going to clean/flush and refill

MODS: Planning on eventually getting a good intake kit, but until then I'll be making this mod and redoing the stock system to flow better -

Every day driver:

Don't waste your money. Use stock Delco replacement parts and drive it till you tire of it---not it tires of you.

The 3.4 is a virtual dog and souping it up is generally for naught in the long haul. Save your pennies for the Corvette. Yep. 100% agreement here. You won't see a penny in any sort of savings, resale or performance gain, even if you don't have to pay for any parts. It's not even worth the work. Just maintain it and enjoy a nice, sporty version of a 'beater'. Put the money and hours into the 'vette. On second thought...there is one thing you might consider. Suspension mods might be worth the effort. I still wouldn't go past finding a T/A or something in a 'yard and swapping + new bushings and joints and seing if the 'yard will give you a break with your 40k mi. trades.
