rpm goes to 1500 on cold srart then takes it's time coming down to 650, even when engine is warm, then when auto trans is in high gear it will keep shifting back and fourth from overdrive to 3rd, at 45to 55 miles per hour. any help would be apreciated, thanks.

Similar recent problem on my '96 was fixed by replacing the temp sensor (the one that feeds the engine computer, not the one that feeds the dash gauge). I figure it was telling the engine computer it wasn't warmed up enough, which would affect torque converter lockup, engine idle, etc. Not sure if the '94 have a similar setup or not, ymmv.
