U Haul towing

Does anyone know why U Haul will not will not allow Explorers pull their trailers? We were told it was a corporate decision but were not told why. Thanks.

It's all the stupidity over all the press about Exploerers flipping over .

The REALLY idiotic thing is if you pry the Explorer emblem off, and put a Mercury Mountaineer emblem on, they are okay with it

Yup... Mazda Navajo... NO PROBLEMO!..

MORONS!

Believe it or not, I had to leave there when I drove up in my '04 Explorer yet they rented to me with my '98 Mountaineer.

Yeah, we should market a "U-Haul adapter" for Explorers.. Consisting of a set of magnetic Mountaineer logos that would snap over the Explorer logos :)

Yeah, except you'd probably need some bogus registration papers too, because I'm sure that's what they look at.

The most obvious of many differences being the Mercury product's VIN starting with the digit 4, as compared to the Ford vehicle that begins with the numeral 1.
