PCV valve off, any issue?

after doing some work under the hood on my 3.8 '90 Tbird, I had a whistling under the hood that I only 4 days later got to investigate.. I drove maybe 40-50 miles (mostly HARD trying to get it warmed up) during this time.. I found that I had inadvertantly knocked the PCV valve out of the valve cover, so the valve just hung there. my question is, does this have the potential to cause any actual damage?

I would say no, you just allowed more pollution into the atmosphere since the PCV valve was not connected to suck out the blowby vabors from the valve cover/crankcase. Not preaching, just highlighting... I drive a truck after all.
