When you call someone an idiot, you'd better check your spelling.
I wouldn't change my oil any sooner. You're also running a risk that you will won't seal the oil filter properly or damage the drain plug.
You are wasting money and resources when you change the oil unnessecarily. I would think GM and Ford know more about when to change oil than you do.
