Taurus electrics

Jul 12, 2003 1 Replies

On a 1994 Taurus wagon (3.8 litre)

-- Long-term warning: the battery went flat in 10 or 12 days without use.

-- Short-term event: the engine lamp: (under the hood) failed, wires found corroded: so my mechanic friend cut the connector with wires off a junked Ford.

  1. Replaced engine lamp: no light.
  2. Also no dashboard clock and no radio. Everything else seems to run OK (ignition, starter, headlights, power windows, WS wipers etc).
  3. Removed engine lamp and clamped wires. Fuses all look OK
  4. Still no dashboard clock and no radio.

Any bright ideas?
