I have a 1.8 W plate focus. Intermitantly, the whole electrical system appears to cut out - lights radio etc. all go off for about a second and then all restore. When it restores, the dials - spedo, rev counter all go hard over before returning to their normal positions. The trip counter resets and the radio requests it's security code. Any clues please?

loose battery terminal, or fuse fault (loose)
Worrying- its got to be the feed to the main bus bar i.e. the constant live supply- so batery terminal, one of the main 60 amp fuses in the engine fuse box.
