Maybe someone was playing with WDS (fords computer) on your are and changed the differential ratio.
OR
Your car was loaded with the latest software on the ECU (PCM as they now call it) and WDS did not remember your axle and tire ratios and loaded a default setting - poss for a diesel gearbox or 6 speed box.
