Dash Light

I have 1995 Monte Carlo with dash light burned out for high beam, anyone know how to change with out taking out dash or will it be easier to take to Chev. Dealer and pay that high price for a bulb??

My suggestion is to buy the bulb from the dealer. It's a standard 194 bulb soldered into a socket, and is a bit of a pain removing and replacing the bulb from the socket.

It's pretty easy to change. Pull off the black bezel that surrounds the radio/HVAC controls/cluster. Pull really hard, but don't break it. Once the bezel is free you'll have to tilt the wheel all the way down and even hold the tilt lever in and hold the wheel down as far as it will go. Then do kind of a tilt/rotate/bend technique to extract the bezel from behind the wheel, takes practice, but is doable. You could just remove the wheel if you want to do it the easy way. What hold you up is the pocket where you put your smokes just left of the wheel.

Then, two srcews (or is it four), hold the cluster in. They are the deepest ones. Remove them, then tilt the cluster towards you and pull it out. The wiring harness has enough length to allow replacing the bulbs without unplugging. The blubs are a simple twist and pull to remove.
