GM and SAIC

GM are in contact with Chinese firm SAIC to build cars in China to try to boost their presence there, China being their main market in the world. Their main products are Chevrolet and Buick.

... GM gains a path to market in India that would otherwise be difficult. SAIC brings a friendly affiliation with China's government. The six-speed in the German-built Regal/Insignia is now made in China and smaller versions will follow. Link below covers some other technology gains GM will make from this alliance: <

Question might be: Ten years from now, might China wind up owning GM?
