Injectors very rarely go bad. How does your mech know its a bad injector? Did he swap them around, pressure test, pattern test, etc??? It could be just as easily a bad plug wire.

injectors on the 2.8 , 3.1, and 3100 commonly go bad .....not because of contaminates clogging the injector but because the coatings on the copper winding inside the injector wear dropping the resistence of the injector . a good injector checked with a ohmmeter should be around

12.7 ohms .....a measure of electrical resistence.... anything lower than around 12.2 is usually on its way to being bad...anything 11 ohms or lower will cause a problem
