For your information, diesel aircraft engines are a hot technology at this point and there are a number of them flying right now.

We can then start working on rationalizing why the black-plague dominated middle ages were the warmest on record, coinciding with not only the use of Greenland as farmland by the Scandanavians, but the great migration of ancient puebloans in North America, whose cliff dwellings became untenable due to drought, wildfire, etc. So, as we wise green-concious neo-cave persons debate all this, we'll wonder how many gas guzzling SUVs the Vikings and Anasazi were driving in order to cause global warming back then.

Re the "radical green BS", if the link on emissions per capita is wrong, and it may well be, then perhaps you can supply one that you think is right instead of ranting about caves and berries. We are civilized people after all.. I'm really not interested in arguing about whether we are causing global warming since I can't see that its proven one way or the other, and frankly my point was only that Britain does not pollute more per capita than the US does.
