Check engine light

Jul 07, 2006 6 Replies

Hi All,

How do I turn off the check engine light? The car won't pass inspection with it on. I tried disconnecting the battery but nothing happened. I found some check engine code readers/erasers on EBay here

Has anyone tried similar one?

Thanks,

'Normally' most people fix the problem and then the light goes off.

If you don't fix the trouble, you will not be able to turn it off short of removing the bulb and then it will fail the bulb test anyway...

I checked your sig and you are nothing but a low life spammer with fake solutions for fake questions.

Just tell the inspector that when the light came on, you checked the engine like it said, and found the engine was still there.

I usually just cover it with electrical tape.

Try disconnecting the battery again. Leave it that way, and your check engine light will remain unlit.

Some folks just put the gas cap back on.

Too bad no year, make, model mentioned, as some just come on to tell you to go spend money to have someone turn the light off. Others will let you pull fault codes to see what the problem is.

get the code and fix the issue.. That be the easy way
