Smokin' After Carb Rebuild

I just rebuilt my carb on a '79 CJ with a 360 Motorcraft 2bbl. When I went to fire it up it refused to start. I opened the choke plate and eventually got it started but it's smokin' up a storm.

Where do I look first in the carb to remedy this?

Thanks for any advice.

Usually either the float is too high, the needle and seat are leaking, or the economizer valve (same as a Holley power valve) is leaking at the gasket or has a ruptured vacuum diaphragm.

I would check the float needle and level first.
