wheel question from Baghdad

Dec 25, 2003 1 Replies

I'm over in Baghdad right now as an Army contractor, so I can't quite call up discount tire and ask them. Thanks in advance for your time.

I have an 03 tj rubicon, 2.5" old man emu lift and 1.5" body and engine lift planned. What backspacing will I need to run 305 75 R16 goodyear MTR's without rubbing or losing my turning radius. I want to keep them as close in as possible, but have no problem running extended fender flares to cover the rest.

Thanks again for your time - keep our soldiers in your prayers.

While I'm not sure of that 34" tire's exact with, I suspect it's near 12.5". If so, 4.5" or less backspacing is the most backspacing you can run with. I run 35x12.50 and 4.5" was the most backspacing possible for that tire... same with the 33x12.50 tires I used to run.
