Groan. I've got a failing 65A Lucas A127 on Marge.
The more modern Magneti Marelli ones (also Lucas really) are both cheaper and higher output, which seems sensible given I've fitted a bigger battery etc.
Is a straight swap possible/sensible, say with the sort for the 300tdi engine? I realise the pulley would have to be changed (my old'un is just a vee-belt), and I guess that could be a show-stopper, but otherwise it looks like a good fit.
Comments? Anyone tried it, or similar?
