Of course they are just for show/sound ..... there's no reason why there can't be one. But heck .... they are V8's :>

I've seen a yank truck with a sod-off V8, it has 2 shiney pipes about 3" diameter, one sticking out each side, and from the sound of it, no silencers.

I have to say it was impressive.
