I just wish rear fog lights were all turned off automatically when the ignition is turned off, as I hate being stuck behind some idiot that has them on from when it was foggy weeks ago.

Good idea in theory, but what about those vehicles that are used for frequent stop/starts?

I agree with how annoying it is when they are misused. Perhaps some real traffic police and some high profile fines would help?

The message from "Andy" contains these words:

My Mundeo turns off the fogs whenever you turn the lights off - you have to intentionally switch them back on again the next time.

My Messerschmitt has a 3 way toggle switch for the indicators (similar in function to many motorbikes of course) ;-)

I think her XV750 might be self canceling (My R100RT isn't).

Not a problem according to the manufacturers who actually do this - eg my BX does, and I reckong Guy's mondeo is a bit more mainstream.

If it's foggy enough that they're necessary, no it wouldn't be. It's very rare that it is that foggy, especially during the day and in towns which is when and where people doing that many stops would be driving.
