Bravo TD100 wont start

Firstly, crank it a good while and see if the exhuast is puffing white smoke- if so, then its getting fuel, but the glow plugs arent heating- should be a fairly simple diagnose and fix in this instant- glow plug relay, and main fuse- will be something in the region of a 50-80 amp-er in the engine fusebox, and listen for a fairly solid clunk when you turn on from the glow plug relay.

If its not getting fuel- then is the immobilizer lamp doing anything strange- try the spare key as well.

Thanks Tim. I got it going in the end - does the following sound feasible? I think the battery is on its way out and does not hold enough charge to start the car more than once unless it has been taken for a run. My reason is that the car started fine yesterday and I drove it 15 metres to move it onto the road and then switched off. When i went back to it 10 minutes later it would not fire. I left it over night and it started first thing this morning so I drove it 15 metres back onto the drive and switched off, I unlocked the garage and went to start again and it would not fire. I got the jump leads on it with the wifes car and after a bit of cranking it started OK so I took it for a10 minute motorway run - I will try and start it again tomorrow.

If it doesn't start tomorrow I will check the glow plug fuse and relay - if the plugs are faulty the glow plug warning light normally indicates so by flashing after the car has started (it did last time they went anyway).

That sounds like a dead battery. Eother buy a multimeter or a new battery

Either your battery is knackered or your not driving the car long enough to recharge it, which is more likely.

Get the original battery properly bench charged over night and go from there. You can fit 100 new batterys and you'll still not be able to start it if its not being driven enough to recharge the battery. And this is aside from the severe engine wear that will be taking place from the very short journeys.
